Dear Partners in Ministry:
As Director of Church Relations for Christian Care Communities, I want to welcome you to our website. Christian Care Communities has been a partner with the Christian Church/Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since its founding in 1884. Together, we have answered Jesus’ call to “Feed my lambs. Tend my sheep. Feed my sheep.” Our shared ministries have grown to become Kentucky’s largest faith-based not-for-profit provider of affordable housing and long term care for older adults. With the coming boom in population for Older Adults, our mission is more urgent than ever.
Today, Christian Care’s statewide network of retirement communities offers high quality care and affordable housing for adults 62 years old and above. We also operate the Stepping Stones program for adults recovering from acquired brain injuries.
Over the years, Christian Care’s focus has always been on providing care as an extension of your ministry. Our goal is to expand this partnership with the over 300 Christian churches that currently support these ministries. To that end, we offer a number of resource materials and outreach programs to engage your congregation in our historic partnership.
Sincerely,
Bill Schiphorst
Director of Church Relations

As the former minister of Hurstbourne Christian Church in Louisville for 30 years, I am aware of the many needs of a pastor and congregation. It is my hope that I will be able to meet you and learn how I may support you. In addition, our Director of Pastoral Care, the Rev. Jackie Ward, and the chaplains who serve at each of our programs can also support your ministry.
To learn more about our chaplains throughout Kentucky, read more below in our Pastoral Care section. To learn more about the opportunities and special events offered by Christian Care, and to meet our Mission Advancement Vice President, Ralph Allen, go to Donations.
Please let me know how we can work together as an outreach ministry of your church, or with residents and family members involved in our programs who may also belong to your congregation.
Sincerely,

Bill Schiphorst, Director of Church Relations
