How Our Rates Are Calculated

Christian Care Communities is committed to offering affordable housing options to older adults, regardless of ability to pay. Some of our residents at Chapel House and Friendship House pay full market rate for our apartments.  However, many of our residents receive federal rent subsidies from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, ensuring that they pay no more for rent than a percentage of their monthly income after medical expenses.

For more information about market rates, HUD subsidy eligibility or scheduling tours, please contact Mary Lawson at 606-523-1095.

Apartment Availabilities & Waiting Lists

The availability of apartments varies according to the type of apartment desired, whether there are any current vacant apartments, and whether or not for HUD subsidies apply.

Once an applicant has been advised on available apartment and he/she is ready to move, we will complete a sex-offender and criminal reference check and look into the applicant’s landlord history for the last three years.

When these checks are returned satisfactorily, fair market renters can usually move in a few days if the apartment is ready.  For potential residents who qualify for rent subsidy assistance, final approval may take two weeks.

In the event that there is no appropriate apartment available, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified of openings.
