How our Rates are Calculated
Many of our residents pay full market rate for our apartments. However, we also provide lowered rates to older adults who qualify for rent subsidies through The Department of Housing and Urban Development. (HUD. These subsidies are “site –based,” therefore residents are considered through our regular application process.
For more information about market rates, call 502-585-5656.
Apartment Availabilities & Waiting Lists
The availability of apartments varies according to the type desired, vacancies, and whether an applicant qualifies for HUD subsidies. Two persons living together are considered first for any one-bedroom apartments. Current residents have priority for switching apartments.
Once an applicant has been advised on available apartments and he/she is ready to move, the applicant will need to have an assessment by our social worker to determine if we can meet his/her needs. If approved, we will then complete a criminal reference and landlord checks.
When these checks are returned satisfactorily, fair market renters can usually move in a few days if the apartment is ready. For potential residents who qualify for rent subsidy assistance, final approval may take three to four weeks. Subsidy-qualified renters who wish to move more quickly may be able to do so, if they have the ability to pay a month or two fair market rent while their application is being processed.
In the event that there is no appropriate apartment available, applicants will be placed on a waiting list and notified of openings in the order in which he/she applied.
